The armored lions have only a few minutes of screen time in The Chronicles of Riddick, but they were so cool. Dark brown in colour and shaped like lionesses, these cruel cats had thickly scaled hides, ugly snarling maws and glow-in-the-dark eyes like Riddick’s. They appear about two-thirds through the movie when Riddick is in the gaol on the “hell” planet Crematoria.

Rated M15+ in Australia, The Chronicles of Riddick is an action-packed sci-fi adventure with planet-wide destruction scenes, hand-to-hand combat and gun fights. Perhaps the most disturbing part of the movie occurs when a man is burned to death by exposure to the sun of Crematoria, which is very close to the planet.
